The Sloom Mattress 100-night risk-free trial lets you test the mattress in your own home. We recommend sleeping on it for at least 60 nights to allow your body to adjust to the new support and foam. If you're still not satisfied, you can return your Sloom Mattress between 60 and 100 days for a full refund.

To unbox your Sloom Mattress, tip the box on its side and slide the rolled mattress onto your base. Do not cut the plastic while the mattress is compressed and rolled up, as you could cut into the cover. Carefully open the first layer of plastic by pulling at the heat seal and unrolling the plastic, tearing by hand if needed. Unroll the mattress with the white side facing up and the label at the foot of the bed. Cut the final layer of plastic at the end farthest from the mattress and allow it to expand for a few minutes. Remove all plastic, make your bed, and enjoy a great night's sleep.

You can sleep on your mattress immediately after unpacking. While it may take up to 24 hours to fully decompress, the final expansion is minimal and won’t affect comfort or support.

The mattress can stay in its compressed state without compromising the foams for a month, but we recommend that you remove it from the box upon receipt.

The Sloom Mattress comes preset to the Soft comfort level, but you can easily adjust it to Medium or Firm by rearranging the foam layers inside the cover. Medium firmness is a great starting point to let your body adjust. If you prefer more or less support, simply flip or swap the layers. This modular design makes it easy to find your ideal Sloom Mattress firmness at home.

An uneven foundation that doesn’t keep the mattress leveled when slept upon will affect your sleep and support. Old box spring bases will not support your Sloom Mattress. The base also affects the mattress’s overall breathability, so using anything other than a slatted base might affect how hot you sleep and cause condensation in humid environments.

Yes, the top white knitted cover of the Sloom Original Mattress is removable and washable. The bottom grey cover is not washable. The top white cover should not be a replacement for a mattress protector or fitted sheet and excessive washing may decrease the lifespan of your cover.

Wash the top part of your cover in cold water with mild detergent. Do not use bleach or harsh stain removers. We recommend that you hang the cover to dry. Dry cleaning is not recommended.

We recommend that you use a mattress protector to protect your mattress against spills and other fluids. A mattress protector increases the lifespan of the mattress. A fitted sheet should be placed over the mattress protector.

Your mattress is ready to sleep on after it has been removed from the box. The decompression of the mattress takes up to 24 hours.

The mattress can stay in its compressed state without compromising the foams for a month, but we recommend that you remove it from the box upon receipt.

The King Size Extra length has the largest box with dimensions of 190cm x 30cm x 30cm and a weight of 40Kg. Should your car have space for these dimensions, then it will fit in your car.

Yes, you can use an electric blanket with your Sloom mattress. However, we recommend following these guidelines to ensure you maintain the quality and longevity of your mattress:

• Moderate Heat Setting: Using your electric blanket on a low to moderate heat setting will help preserve the texture and supportive properties of the memory foam layers.
• Impact on Firmness: Over time, high heat settings may slightly alter the firmness of the memory foam. By keeping the heat moderate, you can better maintain the original feel and durability of your mattress.
• Turn Off When Not in Use: To avoid any potential impact on the mattress, consider turning off the electric blanket when not in use, especially overnight.

The Sloom Pillow is vacuum-sealed and compressed for delivery, which may cause the memory foam chips to stick together, making the pillow feel flat or hard initially. While the pillow will naturally fully recover its shape within 48 hours, you can speed up the expansion process with these steps:

• Puff it up: Vigorously shake and fluff the pillow to introduce air.
• Loosen the foam: For the fastest results, open both zip covers and separate the memory foam chips by hand.

To adjust your Sloom Adjustable Pillow, unzip both the outer knitted cover and the inner memory foam sleeve. Add or remove the memory foam chips to achieve your preferred height, firmness, and support. Keep any removed foam in a sealed bag so you can readjust the firmness later if your comfort needs change. To maximise the lifespan and comfort of your Sloom Pillow, follow these cleaning and maintenance guidelines:

• Outer Cover: The removable zip cover is washable. We recommend a gentle machine wash in cold water using a mild detergent.
• Use a Pillowcase: Always use a separate pillowcase. Sleeping directly on the cover requires frequent washing, which can shorten its lifespan.
• Inner Memory Foam: Do not wash the inner foam filling. Exposure to water will compromise the quality and structure of the memory foam.
• Maintain Shape and Comfort: Regularly fluff the pillow to prevent the memory foam filler from clumping. This ensures the pillow retains its loft and consistent support over time.
  

It’s completely normal for the memory foam inside your Sloom Adjustable Pillow to turn slightly yellow over time. This natural discolouration happens as the foam is exposed to air, light, and moisture, and does not affect the pillow’s comfort or hygiene.Sloom uses pure, high-quality memory foam without artificial whitening agents or fillers, which ensures safety, durability, and long-term support, even if the foam changes colour over time.

The Sloom Pillow is filled with a custom blend of premium materials to ensure optimal comfort. We utilise a mixture of standard memory foam and gel memory foam. Since these foams differ in colour (typically white and blue), the visual ratio of chips may vary from pillow to pillow. This colour difference is purely visual and a variation in the look of the filling does not affect the pillow's support, comfort, or quality in any way.

The zip cover is washable and can be washed in cold water with mild detergent. Do not tumble-dry, and always air-dry completely before refitting. Do not wash or wet the foam inner. The cover does not serve as a mattress protector or sheets, and we do not recommend sleeping on it directly, as frequent washing can reduce its lifespan. Using a mattress protector with your Mattress Topper will prolong its lifespan.

• Avoid exposing your pedestal to direct sunlight, extreme heat, or moisture, as this can cause discolouration or warping.
• Use coasters to avoid moisture marks.
• Dust regularly with a soft cloth. For stubborn marks, use a mild wood cleaner such as Mr Min and wipe dry immediately. Do not use abrasive materials or harsh chemicals, as they may damage the finish.

It is possible with a little diy. Gently rub a small amount of Danish oil into the spot with a soft cloth and let it sit for a few hours before wiping off excess. If the mark persists, lightly sand the area with fine-grit sandpaper (300–400 grit) along the grain, then reapply Danish oil and allow it to cure.

The 100-night trial lets you try out the Sloom mattress in the comfort of your own home. It takes time for your body to adjust to a new mattress, we recommend you spend a minimum of 60 days trialing your new Sloom Mattress. We suggest spending 30 days trying a specific firmness, if between days 60 and 100 you are still not satisfied – we will arrange a free collection and refund in full.

A great question! 3% of Sloom Mattresses are returned. This leaves us with a few lightly used mattresses that need new homes. Once a year, we sell these mattresses at a fraction of the cost and 100% of these proceeds go to a good cause.

The sleep trial only extends to the original purchaser and is limited to one mattress per customer. Proof of purchase must be provided. The sleep trial will be nullified if: the product is found in an unsanitary/stained/burnt/torn or dirty condition. The product has been abused or damaged in any way. An inappropriate foundation has been used. The person sleeping on the mattress weighs more than the weight limit of that mattress. Please view the terms and conditions for a full explanation.

The return policy allows you to return goods for a full refund within seven days if unused and still in their original packaging. If the product has been opened or used and you wish to return it under the 7-day return policy, a handling fee of 10% of the purchase price will be charged. The return policy is separate from the 100-night sleep trial. Returning the mattress is free and Sloom covers transport costs. Once the returned product is received, the refund will be made within three working days. For Credit Card Payments, please expect the refund to appear in your account within 7 to 12 working days. For EFT payments, the refund is typically reflected within 24 working hours.

The first 24 months are covered by a full factory guarantee against poor workmanship and faulty materials. If, after inspection, the product is found to be defective, Sloom will either repair or replace the product. This does not include normal wear and tear of damages post-receipt of the product. After 24 months, there will be a service charge for the repair or replacement of your defective product. The service charge is calculated by dividing the current retail price by the number of years of the warranty, which is 25, and then multiplying it by the number of years since the purchase date on your original invoice.

The current retail price of a Queen size is R11 000 / Service warranty 25 Years = R440

Number of years since purchase date = 4 years.

Charge for repair or replacement (R440 x 4 years) = R1 760

These are either demo mattresses or mattresses returned during the 100-night trial period.We will never repackage a mattress that has been used and sell it as new, we will either recycle it or donate it to our chosen charity. Therefore please ensure you have selected the correct size, as once opened, it cannot be recompressed and packaged in a box.
